Quick-connect air brake fittings made with a composite body improve impact resistance and strength while significantly reducing weight compared to brass connections, according to Eaton Corp.’s Hydraulic Operations.

The new Eaton Composite Q-CAB 217 Series of air-brake quick-connect fittings support full air flow and need only low insertion force, according to the company. The fittings have been field tested under extreme weather conditions and meet all government and industry requirements and standards, Eaton says.

The new composite medium- and heavy-duty brake components can also be used with Synflex Eclipse multi-layer air-brake tubing, according to the company.
