A line of heavy-duty tire chains, dubbed Grip Link, has been introduced to the U.S. truck market by Kinedyne Corp. Grip Link was first rolled out in Canada back in 2004.
Grip Link tire chains are available in V-Bar and Square Link formats for highway use, as well as stud chains for off-road conditions. They are made from high-strength, carbon steel “case hardened” for extra long wear-life, Kinedyne said.
The company noted that Grip Link chains can serve in many situations, ranging from carting trees off a hillside logging site, to powering a shunt truck across a muddy yard, to steering a heavy-duty rig through 18-inches of mountain snow.
“They are designed to provide a higher safety factor for anyone needing to transport materials in adverse conditions,” added Larry Harrison, Kinedyne vp-- sales and marketing. “These chains offer exactly what a professional driver wants, including greater stability, increased safety, and expanded durability.”
He pointed out that Grip Link chains are available in two widths – 22.5 inches and 24.5 inches – and come in single as well as dual and triple tire design formats. All Grip Links feature twist-tightening cams on every set of chains, which provide for easier overall tensioning and adjustment.
They are also sold in “easy carry/easy store” plastic or metal pails, with color-coded labels to clearly indicate the specific width and design of the various types of chains, Harrison said.
