Hankook Tire America Corp. has released a long-haul steer tire it said increases both durability and fuel efficiency, using a mixing system to ensure longer tread life while maintaining performance and safety.

The AL07+ tire’s Innovative Mixing System (IMS) reinforces a stronger bond of the materials in the tire, generating lower heat and improving the life of the tire, Hankook said. In addition, the decoupling groove maximizes tread wear, and Hankook’s Stiffness Control Contour Technology (SCCT) allows the profile of the tire to wear evenly, the company added.

The tread design also features four straight grooves to improve fuel efficiency and handling, as the grooves become more aggressive throughout wear to ensure performance isn’t sacrificed when the tread depth is eroded, Hankook said.
