Xtra Lease has announcing ordering a number of new trailers to meet customer demands. Among the new orders are CARB-compliant refrigerated units for transportation in California.

A new shipment of 48-ft. pintle hook trailers for the northeast region, based primarily in Albany, NY, will enable a tractor to pull twin 48-ft. trailers. These units include installed trailer tracking units and logistics seams on 24 in. centers to provide flexibility in blocking off loaded cargo.

Both coasts will see a group of 28- and 48-ft. liftgate trailers featuring 5,500 lb. capacity severe- duty liftgates with large platforms and 16 in. retention ramps. In the southwest region, customers will have the option of 57-ft. dry vans.

“For the second time this year, we’ve ordered new equipment to help fleets manage unique demands,” said Bill Franz, XTRA Lease president & CEO. “With new regulations looming for operating reefers in California, we’re confident we can assist fleets to better serve their customers by having proper equipment that meets the state’s regulations. Meanwhile, we’ve added a variety of other specialty equipment where we’ve heard from fleets who have distinctive needs.”

All the trailers feature composite interiors, aluminum roofs, air-ride suspensions with anti-dock walk device and air-assisted slider pin assembly, and crossmember spacing on 10 in. centers throughout for increased floor rating capacity, Xtra Lease noted.

Xtra Lease is also adding new 20-ft./40-ft. combination tridem chassis for itswest and mid-west regions that enable users to carry a loaded 20- or 40-ft. container or two empty 20-ft. containers.
