Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has announced that its Continental Eco Plus line of tires is now being offered as a published option on Volvo trucks.

With Continental HSL Eco Plus tires in the steer position and HDL Eco Plus tires on the drive axle, fuel economy can improve up to 7.2% over conventional tires, according to the tire maker.

“Continental Eco Plus tire technology provides impressively low rolling resistance for excellent fuel economy and long original mileage,” said David Misbrener, CTNA account manager for Volvo North America.

The HSL Eco Plus is described as a premium longhaul steer tire that provides even pressure distribution for high resistance to irregular wear. The HDL Eco Plus is said to offer a “perfect balance” of long original miles and low rolling resistance is a tire designed for drive-axle applications.
