EnerSys has introduced a new 12-volt starting, lighting and ignition (SLI) battery designed especially for heavy-duty deep cycle applications.

Based on the company's thin plate pure lead (TPPL) technology, the Odyssey PC2150 is said to provide up to 70% more starting power than wet-cell batteries, especially at low temperatures (-22°F).

EnerSys says customers can expect a service life of six to eight years, and should be able to store fully-charged batteries for up to two years at 77°F.

Batteries are designed with sealed drycell construction to “prevent external corrosion and acid leakage.”

DOT has certified the PC2150 as non-hazardous and non-spillable, for unrestricted shipping.

Specs include cold cranking amps of 1090 A; cranking amps of 1370 A; and hot cranking amps of 1545 A. Reserve capacity is 200 min.; deep-cycle capability is 400 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.
