Freightliner Trucks has announced high-visibility seat belts are now available as a factory-installed option on its Cascadia, Columbia, Century Class S/T and Business Class M2 trucks.

The bright orange seat belts, manufactured by LifeGuard Technologies, include the Komfort Latch, which reduces seat belt irritation, and the Sliding Komfort Latch, which sets the seat belt’s slack to approximately one inch to reduce tension, the company said.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drivers who wear seat belts are almost twice as likely to survive an accident, which led LifeGuard to launch its “Click, Tug & Snug” campaign, designed to increase driver awareness of proper seat belt usage.
