A record 22,000 trucks were put back in service in the month of June by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s fleetHQ program.

FleetHQ is Goodyear’s 24/7 roadside service program. It also offers consistent pricing, online tire monitoring, Gold Medallion retreaded tires, TirePix, and TVTrack, an online management tool.

“There were several days in June when fleetHQ’s Solution Center helped put more than 900 downed trucks back on the road,” said Roy Sutfin, vice president of fleetHQ.

The fleetHQ Solution Center typically assists around 700 trucks a day, according to Sutfin, but “last month’s hot weather contributed to several spikes in the number of calls we received.”

According to Sutfin, fleetHQ service “roll times” are averaging 2 hours and 10 minutes.

“We’re making a concentrated effort to shorten that span. Downtime can mean lost revenue, and we want to help our customers maximize their profits,” Sutfin said.

FleetHQ also offers a smartphone mobile web application available for the iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices.
