A new ruggedized trailer tracking device offers position reports every 10 minutes when tethered across all of North America.
The R:Com Dot from Blue Tree Systems, can be installed discretely underneath dry vans, flatbeds, and tankers, and requires no external antenna. The device provides real-time positioning of assets when tethered, and scheduled reports when not tethered, the company said.
“With the addition of R:Com Dot to our product portfolio we are now the only North American provider of a comprehensive fleet management system that includes untethered reefer monitoring, untethered dry trailer monitoring and a full in-cab fleet management solution,” said Charlie Cahill, CEO. “Every customer has a different set of needs when it comes to fleet management, and it is R:Com’s unique and fully comprehensive feature set, from in-cab to trailer, that enables us to meet any requirements that are presented to us.”
R:Com Dot uses the latest in GPS technology and is powered by a high-grade lithium polymer battery designed for three years or more of operation. A high capacity rechargeable version of the battery is also available as an option providing several months of untethered operation before requiring charging.
Map views include road, aerial, and bird’s eye, and detailed trailer movement information with drill down and tracking history capabilities are also included. Users can also geo-fence thousands of locations and receive exception-based alerts and cargo control alerts for door open and close events.
The R:Com Fleet Management Solution includes vehicle tracking, in-cab communication and navigation, fuel monitoring, engine and driver performance monitoring, reefer temperature management, automated IFTA fuel tax reporting, and driver hours-of-service management.
