Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems’ ModulX DN22LT is now the preferred disc brake option on IMT axles, Haldex has announced. The ModulX has been available on IMT rigid axles since March 2008 and is now available on self steer axles.

The DB22LT is an optimized disc brake design engineered for heavy-duty applications. It is 18 lbs. lighter per brake than previous ModulX versions, according to Haldex.

With four stainless steel slide pins, the air disc brake is more compact and stable than standard two-pin designs, the company noted The stainless steel pins increase corrosion resistance and require no lubrication. Two tappets equally distribute brake pad clamping force to ensure even wear, resulting in longer service life and lower maintenance costs, Haldex said.
