Joint venture acquires assets of Aurora Trailer Leasing and Rental

Three trailer leasing companies have joined forces to acquire the assets of Aurora Trailer Leasing and Rental. Aurora’s fleet includes 5,700 highway trailers spread across the U.S. The three companies will acquire individual fleet trailers at Aurora’s branches in their respective geographic markets.

Bowman Sales & Equipment, of Hagerstown, MD, offers over 25,000 assets in the Eastern U.S. from 32 branch locations. Bowman also provides in-house maintenance and delivery/pick-up capabilities in most locations. It will acquire Aurora assets in the Eastern U.S.

“Bowman has been very fortunate to be able to take advantage of the trailer leasing market consolidation that has taken place in the U.S. in the last few years and we are totally committed to continuing to provide our customers with the best equipment and service available in the industry,” said Dennis Hamill, president of Bowman.

McKinney Trailer Rentals, based in Pico Rivera, CA, offers more than 17,000 dry vans, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, curtain vans, and chassis and storage trailers. It will take control of  trailers in Aurora’s Los Angeles, Houston, and Dallas markets.

Milestone Trailer Leasing, with a fleet of 15,000 rental trailers through its affiliate, Personal Attention Leasing, operates 19 full-service rental branch locations. Based in Tiburon, CA, the company operates primarily in the Midwestern U.S.

Aurora is a subsidiary of Aurora Trailer Holdings, a portfolio company of Jefferies Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm.
