LOUISVILLE, KY. Transcraft Corp. displayed a redesigned Benson 524 flatbed, a new ultra-lightweight package, and a new low-deck trailer this week at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

The Benson 524 flatbed now includes an enhanced rear impact guard for added protection, and two new integrated load securement features. A patent-pending side rail and patent-pending main beam top tee to support sliding J-hooks on the sides and center of the trailer will help keep loads secure, the company said.

“Benson aluminum platform trailers have long been known for their long-lasting, exceptional performance,” said Rick Klein, general manager, Transcraft. “These recent product improvements and packages are a direct result of customer feedback and our commitment to maintaining Benson as the premier aluminum platform brand.”

The trailer also includes an enhanced electrical and LED lighting package that comes with Truck-Lite’s limited lifetime warranty.

In addition to the redesigned flatbed, Transcraft also debuted a Benson 524 with ultra-lightweight package, dropping the trailer weight to approximately 7,900 lbs. The aluminum trailer is now one of the lightest trailers available on the market today, the company said, and provides added payload capacity for loads such as dry wall, lumber, and shingles.

A new low-deck trailer was also introduced. The Benson low deck has a height of 34 ½ in., the company said, providing it flexibility in handling a wide range of freight and offering plenty of back haul flexibility.
