All-makes fuel tanks configured online

March 26, 2012
Aluminum replacement fuel tanks can be configured online for dealership delivery in under four weeks.

LOUISVILLE. Replacement cylindrical fuel tanks for all makes of medium- and heavy-duty trucks are being offered by Alliance Truck Parts, the Daimler Trucks North America aftermarket parts business with over 800 retail locations. The new aluminum fuel tanks meet or exceed OEM specifications and are 100% leak-tested, according to the company.

An online configuration tool allows buyers to specify truck make, tank capacity, finish and fuel-neck placement, providing a part number that can be used to order a custom tank at any Freightliner, Sterling or Western Star dealer.

The tanks are made of high-grade aluminum with polished or etched finishes in capacities ranging from 50 to 150 gals.  Introducing the new tank during the Mid-America Trucking Show, Alliance said that accessories including caps, straps and fuel-level sender options will be added in the near future.

Standard lead time for delivery of a custom tank is four weeks, and expedited service with delivery in two to four days is also offered.
