Utility Trailer receives safety award

June 13, 2012

Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. has received the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Assn. (TTMA) Annual Safety Award for Utility’s Marion, VA, manufacturing plant. The Marion plant produces Utility’s 3000R refrigerated trailers.

TTMA honored the plant for attaining 750,000 hours worked in a year without a lost time incident. The plant actually worked 1.89 million hours in 2011 without an incident resulting in days away from work.

“To achieve such an award is due to a well-trained team of management and employees with great attitude, high work ethic and an overwhelming desire to work safely. Employees here at the Marion plant practice the motto, Safety Begins With Me. Each employee takes this very seriously,” said Brad Starkey, the plant manager.
