Three new off-the-road radial tires to be unveiled

Sept. 6, 2012

Yokohama Tire Corp. is planning to debut three new off-the-road (OTR) radial tires at the upcoming MINExpo International trade show in Las Vegas.

The tires – the RL45, RB42 and RL51 – will be part of Yokohama’s booth at the show, which runs Sept. 24-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“MINExpo only comes around every four years and is the largest mining show in the world,” said Gary Nash, Yokohama vice president, OTR sales. “It attracts about 50,000 attendees and is absolutely the best place to launch our new OTR tires.”

The RB42 is designed for dump trucks and soft and/or loose surfaces such as mud, sand, gravel and rocks. It features an extra-deep tread for improved traction and tread life; large center blocks that increase resistance to cuts and improve overall wear; and a zig-zag groove pattern for better traction. Available sizes include 18 R33, 24 R35, 27 R49 (with cut protected compound) and 27 R49 (with regular compound).

Made for articulated dump trucks, loaders and underground vehicles, the RL45 features a deep tread for longer wear while adding stability; a non-directional block pattern that provides abrasion and cut resistance; and improved traction, side-cut protection and ride comfort. The RL45 is available in 26.5 R25 E2 and 26.5 R25 L1 sizes.

Finally, the RL51 is a grader tire for mining and construction that features side-cut protection and a long tread life. It comes in a 23.5 R25 size.
