Shur-Co acquires tarp systems company

Jan. 15, 2013

Shur-Co. has acquired Donovan Enterprises, which specializes in front to rear arm driven and pull style tarp systems for the construction and solid waste hauling industries. Terms were not disclosed.

Donovan, founded in 1977, also operates a facility in Rochester, England. It will now operate under the Shur-Co. name, although the Donovan brands and product lines will continue to carry that name.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the future.  By combining the product lines, sales teams, technical capabilities and service locations of Shur-Co and Donovan, we will be able to provide the most comprehensive product offerings in the market and a customer service platform unequaled in the industry,” said Terry Tennant, Shur-Co CEO.

Shur-Co is the inventor of the original Shur-Lok side-to-side roll tarp and is headquartered in Yankton, SD.  It was founded in 1954 and now manufactures a wide offering of tarp systems and accessories for trucks, trailers, carts, and specialty equipment used in the agriculture, construction and flatbed markets.
