Mack adds overhaul program for E7 engines

Jan. 23, 2013

Mack Trucks has launched Purebred, an overhaul program for its E7 legacy engines. The program offers extended warranty coverage of up to three years or 350,000 mi.

“Mack’s trucks are known for reliability and durability, and our customers hold on to their trucks a long time,” said John Taaffe, director of aftermarket marketing. “Revitalizing the engine is a logical solution. The Mack Purebred Overhaul program offers a range of options to helpmaximize vehicle uptime.”

He said the Purebred program provides four solutions to restore power, reliability and operating efficiency:

  • Basic – contains all Mack Genuine parts, filters and fluids needed for an in-frame engine overhaul.
  • Plus – includes all the benefits of the Basic package and adds REMACKcylinder heads.
  • Premium – includes all the benefits of the Plus package and adds Mack genuine turbo and injector set and a special extended warranty at no cost.
  • REMACK – REMACK is Mack’s genuine remanufactured engine offering. The REMACK package combines a remanufactured three-quarter engine, Mack genuine turbo and set of six injectors, filters and fluids. Includes a special extended warranty at no cost.

All Mack overhaul kits come with a standard two-year, unlimited mile warranty, which includes parts and labor when installed by an authorized Mack dealer.

The Purebred three-year/ 350,000-mi. extended coverage warranty is standard with Premium and REMACK engine packages, and is available for purchase with the Basic and Plus packages when installed by an authorized Mack dealer.

Purebred is part of Mack’s Pedigree Uptime Protection, an integrated package of aftermarket solutions.
