The Women in Trucking Assn. will hold its 4th annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel tomorrow at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY. Female drivers will be honored for their service to the industry by being recognized for their years (or weeks) in their role as a professional driver.
The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. in rooms 201-204 in the South Wing of the Kentucky Expo Center.
Sandra Ambrose-Clark, owner of ESJ Carrier Corp., Fairfield, OH, is featured speaker at the event. She has spent 27 years in the trucking industry including brokering, trucking, warehousing, and her latest endeavor, “Without a Doubt Truck & Trailer Repair” established in 2007. ESJ Carrier Corp. was a finalist in the “Best Places to Work” in Cincinnati in 2011.
Jennifer Jo Cobb of the NASCAR World Truck Series will also be on hand to sign autographs at the Salute. Cobb began racing in 1991 and has proven to be a tough competitor in the world of auto racing. She has numerous victories under her belt and finished in the top 10 championship standings for every season she competed in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Lakeside and I-70 Speedways in the Kansas City area. Cobb continues to hone her driving skills by testing at many tracks and working at the Richard Petty Driving Experience where she logs over 1,000 laps per weekend. Her appearance at the Women in Trucking event is sponsored by Arrow Truck Sales.
All female professional drivers are invited to attend the Salute to Women Behind the Wheel and are also encouraged to join the Women In Trucking Assn. However, membership in the association is not a requirement to participate. The event will conclude with a group photo, where all of the female commercial drivers will pose in complimentary red t-shirts.
