Kenworth of Lincoln (NE) has opened a a full-service dealership at a remodeled facility on property west of Lincoln near the U.S. Interstate 80 and Highway 77 interchange.

The 19,400 sq.-ft. facility features six service bays, 7,500 sq.-ft. parts department, separate full showers for men and women drivers, three washers and three dryers, and a driver’s lounge with Internet access.

“We’ve made a significant investment of time and money to get our newest location in top shape for our customers,” said Tom Berg, general manager of the Kenworth of Lincoln and Kenworth of Omaha locations. “The facility is conveniently located near Interstate 80, offering drivers and owner-operators 10 acres of paved and flat ground to maneuver and park.”

Interstate 80 is a major east-west route that traverses the length of Nebraska from Omaha in the east to the state’s border with Wyoming in the west. Before the Lincoln location opened, customers had to drive more than 50 miles northeast to the nearest Kenworth location in Omaha to get service, the company said.

“Because of the work of business and community leaders, Lincoln has a vibrant and growing economy,” Berg said. “The agricultural industry continues to be a strong economic base for the community and companies in this industry need Kenworth trucks as well as parts and service support. Construction and aggregate haulers also need trucks, parts and service support as new home construction, business relocations and road construction activity picks up.”

Kenworth of Lincoln joins four other dealership locations operated by R.L. French Group – Rock Island, IL; Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, IA; and Omaha, NE. R.L. French Group has been a Kenworth dealer since buying the Kenworth of Omaha dealership in 1983.
