Kenworth of South Florida has opened a new parts and service location just off Interstate 95. The facility, located near U.S. Route 1 in Fort Pierce, FL and three miles east of I-95, joins the company’s other facilities in Fort Lauderdale and Riviera Beach.
“Fort Pierce is experiencing growth in the agricultural industry as citrus exports to Asia expand and with that has come an increasing need for truck parts and service by local agricultural haulers and farms,” said Todd Hays, dealer principal of Kenworth of South Florida.
Fort Pierce is home to one of Florida’s 14 deepwater seaports and in 2012 the Florida Legislature and governor passed significant funding for seaport and intermodal projects. An update of the Port of Fort Pierce Master Plan in 2012 identified several enhancements that could be done to the regional transportation system and the port with a focus on attracting more break bulk, bulk and more regional cargo from smaller vessels.
“We also anticipate our new parts and service location will be important in serving the needs of asphalt contractors, construction companies, seafood haulers and beverage distributors as port activity continues to increase,” Hays added.
The new facility is in a 13,000 sq.-ft. building and includes an extensive parts inventory in a 4,100 sq.-ft. parts area. The dealership offers customers ample room to park trucks and trailers and a driver’s lounge with wireless Internet. There are also 12 service bays and a mobile service truck, which can respond to the remote service needs of agricultural product haulers and citrus farms and other customers.
The location will also offer parts delivery.
