Alcoa releases medium-duty aluminum wheels

June 11, 2013

Alcoa has introduced the M-Series line of wheels, designed for medium-duty trucks in Classes 3-6. Each wheel in the series features the same benefits Alcoa forged aluminum wheels provide to heavy duty (Class 7-8) customers customized to fit medium duty applications, Alcoa said.

M-Series wheels resist corrosion to virtually eliminate wheel maintenance costs and maintain a clean bright look. At nearly half the weight of a steel wheel, Alcoa M-Series wheels improve fuel economy, reduce carbon emissions and are infinitely recyclable, the company pointed out.

“Alcoa is proud to now offer a full range of forged aluminum wheel options to truck Classes 3 through 8,” said Steve Carlson, global sales manager, Alcoa Forged Specialty Wheels. “M-Series aluminum wheels for medium duty applications are loaded with the same money-saving, environmentally friendly, good looking and productivity increasing advantages as any other Alcoa truck wheel—just in a smaller size.”

The wheels are available in brush and polish finish options, with select part numbers available with Alcoa’s patented Dura-Bright surface treatment option. Dura-Bright wheels require no-polish and are the easy-maintenance way to bright, shiny wheels that will last, Alcoa said.

Alcoa’s M-Series wheel collection is designed for straight trucks, cab-overs and low deck trailers in the towing, beverage, emergency, delivery, food processing, retail/wholesale, utility and refuse industries. Specifically the wheels are manufactured to fit Dodge, Ford, Freightliner, Fuso, General Motors, Hino, International, Isuzu, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Smith and Sprinter vehicle makes.
