Insert drains sediment from wastewater

Aug. 2, 2013

A new drain insert from New Pig can help maintenance shops reduce sediment discharge in wastewater, helping keep storm-water outlets clean.

The Pig Quick-Fit drain insert also filters oil out of wastewater.

The company pointed out that the insert requires no retaining rods or trimming and it can be easily installed by one person.

Fully adjustable, the insert’s metal frame slides in four directions to match the size of drain openings from 16x26 in. to 20x32 in.

The insert features a below-grate design and an 18-in deep accumulation pocket to collect sediment, debris and oil.

New Pig said that the insert’s Geotextile fabric lets storm water flow through and that “high- flow storm ports” help to avoid backups during “extreme storm events.”
