Upgradeable TPMS system

Nov. 19, 2013

Mobile Awareness has released a new tire pressure monitoring system that it said is the first integrated and field upgradeable, commercial-grade monitoring and maintenance system.

The MobileTraq Vue is integrated with TireStat TPMS sensors to create a rugged, flexible asset-based monitoring system for both connected and stand-alone truck & trailer monitoring.

The system features an intuitive, programmable color touchscreen display that offers both audio and visual warnings. The MobileTraq platform was developed to connect with Mobile Awareness wired and wireless sensors, the first of which is TireStat TPMS.

TireStat TPMS is a flow-thru tire sensor mountable inside the tire or externally on the valve stem. The sensors transmit data every 60 seconds to the MobileTraq monitor, with pressure and temperature events triggering the system to alarm in real-time.

It has a battery life of up to 10 years and an operating temperature of -40 deg. F to 257 deg. F.

The MobileTraq Vue system offers early warning indications, as well as adjustable tire alarm levels. Additional features include various integrated telematics communication interfaces for monitoring inside the vehicle and remotely, all provided with a 3-year warranty.

MobileTraq will provide updates and feature upgrades including voice enunciation, driver logs and inspection forms.

“Most fleet owners are realizing the value and the immediate return on investment that TPMS can provide. With more than three years of engineering and multiple patents filed, we set out to eliminate the limitations of existing monitoring systems,” said Gary Rothstein, president of Mobile Awareness. “As a result, we are extremely excited to announce the first solution that protects a fleets' technology investment with both software-upgradability and expandable hardware features.”
