• Twin steer prep kits available for Freightliner vocational models

    Nov. 26, 2013

Freightliner Trucks is making twin steer chassis prep kits available for its 114SD and 122SD vocational truck models. The prep kits will serve to quickly facilitate aftermarket conversions and installation of second steer axle and heavy-duty suspensions, resulting in faster delivery to the customer, Freightliner said.

The company has partnered with Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec, Canada-based Simard Suspensions to offer the turnkey solution. Severe-duty twin steer chassis provide a stable platform for increased truck efficiency and performance.

“To provide a simplified transition from factory to conversion, we developed a cost-effective and timely process that still allows for customization,” said Mary Aufdemberg, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “We are responding to our customers’ needs by providing a streamlined solution that will get them on the job as fast as possible.”
