Marangoni Tread North America has released a new precured line of tread for intermodal operations. The Unitread Intermodal is available in 180 & 190 widths and has a modern tread design that was specifically engineered for intermodal applications.
A special compound and lighter tread design helps preserve integrity and longevity of the casing, Marangoni said. This is important, the company points out, because intermodal tires are exposed to a wide variety of extreme conditions which include ozone. Marangoni said its Unitread intermodal passed ozone test ASTMD1149B with no cracking.
