Ram Truck revives Mossy Oak Edition model

Jan. 14, 2014

After a one-year hiatus, the Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition is being brought back into the Ram Truck division’s pickup lineup exclusively as a Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab model.

Reid Bigland, president and CEO  of the Chrysler Group LLC’s Ram Truck division, noted in a statement that the 2014 version of the Mossy Oak Edition is going to be offered with the RamBox Cargo Management System, in both 6-ft.-4-in. and 5-ft.-7-in. bed lengths.

Originally introduced to the Ram Truck family in 2011, the Mossy Oak Edition is designed for enthusiasts who are passionate about the great outdoors,” he said. “The Ram Mossy Oak Edition gives hunting enthusiasts a way to proudly proclaim their love for the outdoors.”

Colors being offers for the Ram Mossy Oak Edition include Black, Black Gold Pearl and Prairie Pearl monotone exterior, paired with Canyon Brown and Frost Beige interior. The truck should arrive in dealerships by early 2014, the OEM noted, with Ram Mossy Oak Edition pricing to start at $39,985, plus $1,195 destination charge.

Bigland pointed out that Ram 1500 owner demographics partly drove the creation of the Mossy Oak Edition as 30% say they hunt, 44% fish, 27% are boaters and 42% are campers.

The Mossy Oak Edition Ram 1500’s bedcaps and tailgate are covered in Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity camouflage pattern and the Mossy Oak logo is prominently displayed on the rear quarter panels, with Break-Up Infinity-patterned lower cladding also available as an option, the OEM said.

Inside, the center column of the Ram’s instrument panel is finished in Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity, as are the door panel inserts, with the “Mossy Oak” logo is embroidered on the four primary headrests, Ram noted. Buyers also can opt for Espresso Tuscany-colored Katzkin Leather seats with Mossy Oak seatback embroidery, the OEM added.
