General Motors revealed initial pricing plans for its new 2015 GMC Canyon and 2015 Chevrolet Colorado extended-cab mid-size pickups this week, with the base models starting at $21,880, including a $925 dealer freight charge, and $20,995, including an $875 dealer freight charge, respectively.

Standard equipment on the 2015 GMC Canyon base model includes: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder direct injected gasoline engine rated at 200 hp, light-emitting diode (LED) lighting, 4-way power driver’s seat, CornerStep rear bumper, and 16-in. aluminum wheels.
Prices for the Canyon increase depending on trim level and optional features, GM noted. For the SLE trim level, pricing starts at $27,520 for the two-wheel drive extended cab; a model that includes aluminum interior trim, soft-touch instrument panel and door pads, EZ-lift and lower tailgate, 8-inch diagonal color-touch radio with Intellilink, plus an OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with a three-month or three-GB trial, whichever comes first.
A four-wheel drive Canyon SLT crew cab short box model starts at $37,875, and includes the 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 305 hp, leather-appointed seating, automatic climate control, 18-in. polished cast-aluminum wheels, remote start and an automatic locking rear differential.
Available options include the 3.6-liter V-6 gasoline engine with direct injection and variable valve timing, a six-speed automatic transmission, Bose premium seven-speaker audio system, and GM’s new “GearOn” accessory system for organizing and carrying bikes, kayaks and other equipment.
Canyon customers also get to choose from multiple cab and bed configurations, including extended cab models with a 6-ft. 2-in. box, or crew cab models with either the 6-ft. 2-in. or a 5-ft. 2-in. box.
Standard features on the new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado extended-cab pickup include the same 200 hp 2.5L-literfour-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and continuously variable valve timing for strong midrange torque; a 6-speed manual transmission; power windows with express up for the driver; a rear-vision camera with dynamic guide lines; and a locking tailgate.
Available options include: a 305 hp 3.6-liter V-6 gasoline engine, also with direct fuel injection and variable valve timing; a 6-speed automatic transmission; 4G LTE with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot; Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning; along with the same “GearOn” accessory system available on the GMC Canyon.
Colorado customers also get a choice of two cab configurations, extended-cab and crew-cab. Crew-cab models can be equipped with either 5- or 6-ft. boxes, with the extended-cab models spec’d automatically with the 6-ft. box.
In terms of the cost of trim packages, the Colorado LT crew cab with two-wheel drive and a 5-ft. box comes with a starting price, including dealer freight, of $27,985. The Colorado Z71 crew cab four-wheel drive model equipped with a 5-ft. bed starts at $34,990.
Both the new 2015 GMC Canyon and 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will be available at GM dealerships nationwide later in the fall this year, the OEM said.
