Cummins scores Frost & Sullivan award for heavy-duty diesels

Sept. 18, 2014

Cummins Inc. was recognized with the 2014 United States Overall Best Heavy-Duty Truck Engines Product Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan on Sept. 16 at the consultancy’s North American Growth, Innovation & Leadership Gala in San Jose.

Per Cummins, the award was based on Frost & Sullivan's 2014 independent research survey of U.S. heavy-duty fleet, safety and service managers. Results from the survey indicated that the majority of respondents selected Cummins as the overall best brand of heavy-duty truck engines for their fleets.

"We are honored to receive this award from Frost & Sullivan, as it is a direct endorsement from fleet managers of their affinity for the Cummins brand," said Julie Furber, Cummins’ executive director, North America Engine Business-- Truck.

"Customer support will always remain a top priority for Cummins, and it is reassuring to see from this award that fleet managers highly value our capability," Furber elaborated. "Overall, the award is a true compilation of the hard work and dedication put forth by all members of the Cummins team who strive daily to deliver a better product for each and every customer."

The survey specifically highlighted certain attributes of Cummins leadership in heavy-duty truck engine technology, including fuel efficiency, performance and reliability, stated a release issued by the engine maker. Cummins said that, for example, its “flagship ISX15 continues to deliver leading fuel economy, big-bore performance and exceptional resale value for customers across North America.”

Cummins also noted that its “customer support capability was equally highlighted by survey respondents as a key driving force for their acknowledgement of Cummins brand preference. Cummins strong standard warranty, combined with the largest and most capable service and support network were key elements that contributed to fleet manager confidence and Cummins high ranking within the survey.”
