• Extra-long tool gives technicians new reach

    Sept. 19, 2014

IPA has released a new tool that gives technicians extra-long reach when using pliers. The Mantus tight access tool is a 14-in. long tool with a slim, low-profile design.

“Even the best needle nose pliers on the market are limited by their own design,” said Ian Vinci, vice president of IPA. “When using traditional pliers, the further you reach into a tight access area, the less they open. The unique feature of the Mantus allows its jaws to maintain the opening width even at its furthest reach.”

According to the company, unlike traditional pliers, the Mantus handles flex as pressure is applied, ensuring a strong and consistent grip on the object being retrieved. At the end of the tool, the Mantus features 30 interlocking teeth that are ideal for grabbing a variety of objects including fuses, wires, hoses, gaskets, o-rings,  hardware and more.
