Airman Systems says a new manufacturing process that allows it to fabricate the AirWedge aerodynamic device directly to the axles reduces its cost by $1,000.
The company said testing on the AirWedge II shows that the new mounting system maintains the miles per gallon increases the previous device generated.
The AirWedge II is tucked in next to the rear axles and moves with the axles. Its compact design prevents damage from curbs, railroads or large elevation changes.
“Our customers have asked for a higher return on investment and the new mounting system answers that need perfectly. The AirWedge II’s reduced weight puts 100 lbs. back in the trailer while lowering the price by $1,000,” said Bob Henderson, president.
