Detroit Radiator introduces longer-lasting bolt-on radiator

March 27, 2015

LOUISVILLE. According to Detroit Radiator Corp., a switch several years ago to truck radiators built with plastic and aluminum resulted in shorter lifespans for the products. That is changing, the company said this week at the Mid-America Trucking Show, with the introduction of its Powercool radiator.

The Powercool is designed to last 6 to 8 years and uses tried-and-true bolt-on technology. It replaces a plastic/aluminum radiator and frame with one integrated complete unit. Thus, doubling the durability, the company said.

“It is extremely rewarding for us to be able to offer a more sustainable radiator with advanced technologyto an industry full of hardworking people spending long hours on the road," said Randy Pruitt, CEO. “We are committed to successfully addressing the most pressing challenges facing cooling systems within the heavy-duty transportation industry.”
