Kicking it with Kamaz

Wabco and BorgWarner are just two of the commercial vehicle suppliers lending support to the Russian Kamaz-master truck racing team, whose off-road monsters crossed the finish line in first, second, and third place in this year’s grueling Dakar Rally. The Kamaz-master Team has won the Dakar Rally 13 times.

Wabco has been supplying Kamaz-master with a variety of vehicle safety technologies since 1997. For Dakar 2015, the company provided heavy-duty trucks with high-performance air compressors, wheel-end solutions, and coupling controls.

BorgWarner supplies a series of its airflow solutions, including electronically controlled Visctronic fan drives. The trucks are rough-and-ready rigs that are powered by 16L engines cranking out 920 hp.
