Borla to offer aftermarket exhaust systems for commercial vehicles

April 7, 2016
Plans to start with exhaust packages for gasoline-powered Workhorse delivery trucks.

Borla Performance, which makes stainless steel aftermarket exhaust systems, will be offering aftermarket exhaust packages for commercial trucks, starting with gasoline-powered Workhorse Custom Chassis W42 and W62 delivery trucks.

“This is a natural evolution and a growth area for our business,” said Alex Borla, the company’s founder and CEO, in a statement.

“We will be utilizing our well-developed engineering and manufacturing expertise to produce parts for commercial vehicles fleets that require very high durability and will provide exceptional service life,” he added.

Borla noted that its exhaust pipes, mufflers, hangers and clamps are manufactured from high quality T-304 Austenitic Stainless Steel, which is extremely resistant to rust and corrosion and carry a one-million mile warranty.

The company also pointed out that its parts and components will typically replace OEM parts manufactured of steel or aluminized steel, which can be prone to corrosion from both from external sources (road salt, sodium and magnesium chloride) as well as internal moisture and acid exposure for exhaust gases.

“We recognize that it’s very important to commercial truck and bus fleets that their vehicles stay out of the repair shop and on the road every day, producing revenue and serving their customer,” added David Borla, the firm’s VP-sales and marketing.

Amy Goodman, the company’s OE/fleet relations manager, pointed out that Borla plans to expand its exhaust package offering to include more makes and models of both light and medium duty commercial trucks and buses throughout 2016.
