Discounts available for advanced registration for Truck Blue Book Conference

Command Sgt. Major Jose L. Garcia-Aponte (Ret.) will speak at the Truck Blue Book Conferenceon May 15-16, 2012, at the PGA National Resort in Florida. Garcia-Aponte will be one of many speakers highlighting the two-day event.

Advanced registration discounts are available until April 15.

Among the speakers and topics scheduled are Sam Davidson, who will be speaking on how to simplify your life; Michael Irwin, CDS CDT, who will provide an overview of CSA; Chris Kuehl, who will give an economic review and outlook; Daniel Murray, who will discuss how to calculate the operation costs of trucking; and Jim Van Den Elzen, who will discuss how to create future drivers.

Garcia-Aponte’s speech, “Embracing Struggles to Develop a Mentality of Victory and Triumph,” will share unique and personal stories of how our wounded war heroes have made the choice to embrace the struggles associated with losing limbs and fellow soldiers, and the battles they face in regards to their health, rather than becoming victims. He is the co-founder of the One By One Foundation and Operation Giveback.
New to the conference this year is the Valuation Pre-Conference. Taking place on Tuesday, May 15, from 8-11:30 a.m., this will discuss in-depth specific valuations of equipment, components, and options, and review the Blue Book Advisory Council Meeting.

A vendor fair will take place on Tuesday, May 15, from 7-8:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday, May 16, from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

On May 15, starting at 1 p.m., golf enthusiasts will be able to network with colleagues while playing the PGA National Squire Golf Course. For those not interested in golf, there is a swamp safari tour that kicks off at noon.

Networking receptions will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. on May 15, and again from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16.
