EnerSys adds Group 34R battery for commercial vans

June 30, 2014

EnerSys has added a Group 34R battery to its Odyssey Performance Series line. The new 34R-790 battery is designed for consumer passenger and commercial vans, custom and classic cars and SUVs.

The battery features a reversed terminal layout, but includes all of the same specifications as its counterpart, the Odyssey Performance Series 34-790. It features 792 cold cranking amps and 114 reserve capacity minutes. It is engineered with Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology and an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) construction.

“A key benefit of Odyssey Performance Series batteries is that they can be installed in almost any position. The 34R-790 provides yet another option for mounting flexibility thanks to its reverse terminal layout,” said Dave McMullen, director of commercial marketing for specialty and UPS markets at EnerSys. “We are pleased to deliver increased convenience to customers with the addition of the Odyssey Performance Series 34R-790 battery.”

The 34R-790 battery features a three- to 10-year service life and two-year storage life at 77 deg. F. It is vibration resistant, classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation and includes a limited four-year full replacement warranty.
