Felling adds air ramp technology option for trailers

June 11, 2013

Air ramp technology has been so popular with some trailer customers, that it is now being added to over-the-road (OTR) semi trailers, manufacturer Felling Trailers said.

Air ramps operate via an air bag system that works off of the same supply as the air brake system, Felling said, allowing any truck that is air-brake equipped to be able to operate air ramps without an external power source.

Felling has outfitted air ramps on everything from a 20,000 lb. capacity tag trailer to a 100,000 lb. hydraulic detach trailer, it said. The air lift system is able to lift in excess of 5,000 lbs. It is available in 36 in., 45 in., and full-width options on any air-brake equipped trailer.
