Recall Roundup: More Ford, commercial vehicle recalls

NHTSA’s latest safety notices feature engine failure, overloaded electrical systems, and more.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Ford, Mack, Rivian, and more.

Owners of the affected vehicles should be contacted via U.S. mail over the next two months, but fleet and independent owners of these vehicles can contact the NHTSA Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit nhtsa.gov for more details. More information on each recall can be found below.

Ford F-150 models’ reverse lights may not function

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with the Onboard Scales feature that were repaired incorrectly under recall 24V443. An over-the-air software update to the body control module may have disabled both reverse lights. Inoperative reverse lights may fail to alert others that the vehicle is reversing, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 10 vehicles. Dealers will update the body control module software. Owner notification letters were mailed June 9. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S57.

Ford F-150 Lightning BEV models’ TPMS light may not illuminate

Ford is recalling certain 2022 F-150 Lightning BEV vehicles equipped with 20 in. or 22 in. all-season tires that were repaired incorrectly under recall 22V-453. The tire pressure monitoring system light may not illuminate as intended, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems." Low tire pressure can lead to poor vehicle handling and a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 192 vehicles. Dealers will update the body control module software. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 23. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C20.

Ford F-550 models’ overloaded electrical system may cause fire

Custom Truck and Body Works is recalling certain 2020 Ford F-550 vehicles equipped with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware in the node may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits. Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire.

This recall potentially affects 3 vehicles. Custom Truck will work with Weldon to update the firmware. All vehicles were repaired. Owners may contact Custom Truck customer service at 888-712-2963 or Weldon Division of Akron Brass customer service at 800-228-1161.

Ford models’ engine failure

Ford is recalling certain 2025 Transit, F-150, and Explorer vehicles. The connecting rod and rod bearing components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure. A damaged engine can result in engine failure and a stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 154 vehicles. The remedy is under development. Owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed June 9. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S55.

Ford models’ engine failure may cause fire

Ford is recalling certain 2020-2023 Escape, 2021-2023 Corsair, and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles equipped with 2.5L HEV or PHEV engines that were repaired incorrectly under recall 23V380. In the event of an engine failure, engine oil and fuel vapor may be released into the engine compartment and accumulate near ignition sources such as hot engine or exhaust components, possibly resulting in an engine compartment fire. An engine compartment fire increases the risk of injury.

This recall potentially affects 1,797 vehicles. Owners are advised to park and shut off the engine as quickly as possible if they hear unexpected engine noises, notice a reduction in vehicle power, or see smoke. Dealers will update the powertrain control module software. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 23. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford models’ block heater may overheat and cause fire

Ford is recalling certain 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus, 2023-2025 Escape, 2023 Lincoln Corsair, 2025 Lincoln Corsair, Maverick, and Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L or 2.0L MPC engine and an engine block heater. The engine block heater may overheat when the vehicle is parked with the block heater plugged in. An overheated engine block heater can increase the risk of a fire.

This recall potentially affects 6,781 vehicles. Dealers will replace the engine block heater element and inspect the electrical cord, replacing it if necessary. Owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed June 6. Once the remedy is available, which is anticipated in the 4th quarter of 2025, second letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S52.

Ford Maverick models’ airbag status indicator light not visible

Ford is recalling certain 2025 Maverick vehicles. The airbag indicator light on the dashboard may be loose or dislodged and not visible to occupants. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." The airbag indicator light may fail to warn occupants of a deactivated airbag, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

This recall potentially affects 63,898 vehicles. Dealers will install airbag indicator light retaining clips. Owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed June 9. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C17.

Hyundai Translead models’ lift gate may fail

Hyundai Translead is recalling certain 2026 Translead vehicles. The cylinder pin in the slide liftgate may be insufficiently lubricated, which can cause the pin to seize, resulting in liftgate failure. A liftgate that fails during operation increases the risk of injury.

This recall potentially affects 2 vehicles. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until they have been repaired. Hyundai Translead will replace the liftgate cylinder pins. Owner notification letters were mailed June 2. Owners may contact Hyundai Translead customer service at 800-251-0871. Hyundai Translead's number for this recall is 25E-025.

Mack Granite models’ incorrect brake drums installed

Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2026 Granite trucks. The incorrect drive axle brake drums were installed, resulting in an incorrect load rating on the door jamb label. Incorrect weight rating information on the door can result in overloading the axles, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 5 vehicles. Dealers will replace the brake drums. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 21. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0472.

Orange EV models’ upper steering shaft clamp bolts may be loose

Orange EV is recalling certain 2023-2025 HUSK-e, e-TRIEVER, and 2022-2024 T-Series trucks. The bolts securing the upper steering shaft clamp may have been improperly tightened. The loose bolts can cause steering system components to separate, resulting in loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 968 vehicles. Orange EV service will replace the upper steering shaft clamp bolts. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed July 29. Owners may contact Orange EV customer service at 866-688-5223.

Peterbilt models’ service brakes may fail

Paccar is recalling certain 2024 Peterbilt 367, 2026 Peterbilt 548, 589, and 2024-2026 Peterbilt 567 trucks. The rear brake piping assembly may have insufficient clearance, which can result in a loss of service brakes or antilock brake function. Brake failure can increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 315 vehicles. Dealers will install new brake hoses and correct the rear brake piping assembly. Owner notification letters are expected to mailed July 27. Owners may contact Peterbilt's customer service at 940-591-4220. Paccar’s number for this recall is 25PBE.

Rivian models’ D-ring bolts for seat belt anchorage assemblies may be improperly installed

Rivian Automotive is recalling certain 2022-2025 R1T and R1S vehicles. The D-ring bolts for one or both front seat belt anchorage assemblies may not have been properly installed. An improperly secured seat belt may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

This recall potentially affects 536 vehicles. Rivian will inspect and properly secure the seat belt anchorage assemblies as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 16. Owners may contact Rivian customer service at 888-748-4261. Rivian's number for this recall is FSAM-1681.

Shyft Group models’ missing tire placard

Shyft Group is recalling certain 2022-2024 Utilimaster Velocity vehicles. The vehicles may be missing the tire and information placard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Without the tire size, pressure, and loading information, the vehicle may be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 1,977 vehicles. Shyft will mail labels and installation instructions. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 800-237-7806. Shyft's number for this recall is 25-14.
