May 29, 2012

Jacobson Companies has purchased 259 Mack Pinnacle tractors for use throughout the U.S. The order includes 139 day cabs and 120 sleepers.

Jacobson is a third-party logistics provider based in Des Moines, IA.

“We chose Mack because they developed a truck that met our needs and would retain its value in the market,” said Scott Temple, president of Jacobson Transportation Logistics Services. “These new trucks will replace older model trucks and refresh our fleet with new technology and improved fuel efficiency. Driver safety and retention remain a high priority for Jacobson, and the Mack Pinnacle models are equipped with features that promote driver safety and comfort.”

The Pinnacle includes an aerodynamic sloped hood, ergonomic wraparound dash, and maximum visibility and comfort for the driver. The Jacobson units are equipped with Mack ClearTech MP8 445 hp. engines.

“Today, everyone is looking to lower fuel and maintenance costs,” said David A. Barletta, Mack central region vice president. “We worked closely with Jacobson to design a complete ownership package that includes Mack Pedigree Uptime Protection service and parts support, financing through Mack Financial Services, technical training through the Mack Trucks Academy and more. It’s the kind of total business solution we at Mack take great pride in providing. It comes down to having the customer’s back.”
