A Mack fit for a Sultan

Dec. 3, 2015

It’s not every day that a truck manufacturer gets to build a big rig for royalty, but that’s just what the Australian branch of Mack Trucks recently did: construct a lavish Class 8 tractor for Malaysia’s Sultan Ibrahim Ismail of Johor. Rumored to cost $1 million, this one-of-a-kind truck is powered by a 695-hp. MP 10 Mack engine and features a sleeper berth that’s 80% larger than a standard unit and fully upholstered with imported South African leather. A unique “leisure deck” is equipped with sun shades, deck chairs, and a pull-out barbecue roaster.
