Delivering the Capitol Christmas tree to D.C.
Nov. 29, 2016

After a long 4,000-mile cross-country journey that began earlier this month in Payette National Forest in Idaho, the 52nd U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree – an 80 year-old, 80-ft. tall Englemann Spruce – arrived in Washington, D.C., this week for placement upon the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

Gary Amoth, owner of Idaho-based Gary Amoth Trucking, piloted the customized Kenworth T680 pulling the tree on its long West-to-East trip across the U.S. and now gets to head back to his home town of Twin Falls, Idaho, with this one-of-a-kind haul now officially over and in the history books.
