Volvo Trucks receives order from Averitt Express for new VNL 860 models
Volvo Trucks North America has received an order from Averitt Express (No. 23 on the FleetOwner 500: For-Hire) for new VNL 860 models, which will be added to the carrier’s fleet of more than 4,600 vehicles. More than half of Averitt’s trucks are already manufactured by Volvo.
According to Volvo, the updated VNL was designed to improve fuel efficiency by up to 10% compared to the previous model, with changes to aerodynamics and the powertrain. It also includes updates intended to support safety, driver comfort, and operational performance.
“This order from Averitt Express is a strong vote of confidence in the all-new Volvo VNL and in our long-standing relationship," said Peter Voorhoeve, president, Volvo Trucks North America. "We are proud that more than half of Averitt’s fleet carries the Volvo badge, and we look forward to supporting their drivers with trucks that were designed to change everything about comfort, efficiency, and safety.” Learn more…

Ex-Guard introduces VM series guards for Volvo’s latest truck models
Ex-Guard has introduced a new VM series of front-end protection guards designed for Volvo’s all-new VNR and updated VNL trucks. The lineup includes five models, ranging from extreme-duty protection to low-profile bumper guards, all engineered for durability and compatibility with Volvo’s technology systems. The guards feature ClearZone CMS compatibility, XERO-G Lift Assist, 8-gauge high-tensile steel with EVRCoat finish, LEVRLock latches, and added grille coverage. They are now available through Ex-Guard’s 2,500 dealers across the U.S. and Canada.
“Just like the new Volvo VNL and VNR themselves, these guards represent a leap forward in design and performance," said Jeremy Drever, Ex-Guard director of engineering. "For the XG-150G3-VM and EX-150G3-VM extreme duty models, we’ve increased hood protection height, redesigned the upper section for better headlight coverage, and enhanced logo visibility, all while preserving the advanced sensor functionality and aerodynamic styling that Volvo customers expect.” Learn more…
