The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Fontaine Trailer, General Motors, and more.
Owners of the affected vehicles should be contacted via U.S. mail over the next two months, but fleet and independent owners of these vehicles can contact the NHTSA Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit nhtsa.gov for more details. More information on each recall can be found below.
Fontaine Fusion trailers’ main beams may crack—do not drive
Fontaine Trailer Company is recalling certain 2025-2026 Fusion flatbed trailers. The main beams may have been contaminated with hydrogen during the galvanization process, causing the beams to crack. A cracked beam may break, resulting in a loss of load support and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
This recall potentially affects 247 vehicles. Owners are advised not to use their trailer until the remedy is completed. Fontaine Trailer will inspect and replace the trailers as necessary. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed May 11. Owners may contact Fontaine Trailer customer service at 800-821-6535, option 5.
General Motors’ models’ front and/or rear wheels may lock up—do not drive
General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2026 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, and GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles with four-wheel (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), and certain 2015-2020 Suburban, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Tahoe vehicles. A component missing from the drivetrain transfer case may cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up without warning to the driver. Front or rear wheel lockup increases the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 66 vehicles. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the remedy is completed. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the transfer case assembly. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 22. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 800-462-8782, Chevrolet customer service at 800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 800-333-4223. GM's number for this recall is N262557620.
International HV models’ delay service brake release
International Motors is recalling certain 2026-2027 HV vehicles. The service brake may take longer than expected to release. As such, these vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems." A delayed brake release can increase the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 16 vehicles. Dealers will remove the 5/8-inch air line and replace it with a 3/4-inch air line. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 6. Owners may contact International's customer service at 800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26506.
