Bridgestone Commercial Solutions has released three new tires. The company has unveiled the M770, the M799, and the Greatec R125A wide base trailer radial.
The Bridgestone M770 is an open-shoulder drive axle radial for high-traction and high-scrub applications in long haul, regional, and pickup-and-delivery applications.
According to Bridgestone, the M770 features an innovative groove and block shape to fight lug base cracking and tearing. For enhanced retreadability, the M770 offers stone rejector platforms in all grooves to help prevent stones from getting trapped and drilling into the belts.
“The M770 is the next generation in open-shoulder drive tires,” said Bert Jones, manager, product marketing, TBR, Retread and OTR, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. “Its wider and deeper tread pattern, along with the open-shoulder design, delivers exceptionally long wear life and excellent traction.”
The M770 drive tire is available in four sizes. The 295/75R22.5 (G) is now available. The 285/75R24.5 (G), 11R22.5 (G/H) and 11R24.5 (G) are all expected to be available during the first quarter of 2012.
The M799, a drive tire designed for mixed service applications, includes an all-steel casing for durability and retreadability. Stone rejector platforms assist in preventing rocks from being trapped in the tread, therefore saving the casing, Bridgestone said.
The casings are further protected with thick ribs on both sidewalls to prevent cuts and abrasions.
“The design of the M799 makes it a great tire for on highway use, as well as offering the necessary grip for occasional off highway use. The M799 provides superior traction, wear and durability,” said Jones.
Long, original tread life is enhanced through an extra-deep cap and base tread compound, the company said. A top steel belt fights flats by adding protection against road hazards.
The M799 comes in sizes 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 12R22.
The Greatec R125A is a wide-base trailer over-the-road radial. It fights irregular wear through an optimized wide top belt, Bridgestone said.
An exclusive belt system helps maintain casing shape and the “Waved Belt” design holds the tread flat against the road for long, even wear, the company added.
The R125A uses several innovations that fight irregular wear and promote long, even tread life, including Bridgestone’s Equalizer Rib structure and Defense Groove design. Both sidewalls have protector ribs to fight curbing, cuts and impacts.
Among the features of the R125A are stone rejector platforms to enhance retreadability and prevent rocks from embedding; thirsty cross-rib sipes to improve traction on wet roads; stress-relief sipes that absorb rib edge stresses to increase mileage; and Bridgestone’s exclusive Turn-In Ply design to reduce ply end stress and enhance durability.
The Greatec R125A comes in size 445/50R22.5 (L).
