It might be summer, but Bridgestone Americas is preparing light trucks and SUVs for winter with two new additions to its Blizzak line. The company said both the Blizzak DM-V1 and LM-60 are dedicated winter tires.

The DM-V1 is available in 46 R-speed-rated sizes ranging from 15-22 in. and 75-45 series. It boasts Bridgestone’s Nano-Pro-Tech rubber compound and Multicell technology to disperse surface water and improve grip, the company said. A directional tread pattern and 3-D sipes enhance dry performance and continuous lug design while center multi-Z tread grooves increase traction in the snow and ice.

The LM-60 uses continuous lugs and zigzag sipes for improved traction and includes circumferential grooves that channel water out of the tire’s footprint to resist hydroplaning. A directional tread pattern and 3-D sipes improve the dry performance. It is available in 34 H-speed-rated sizes from 17-20 in. in the 60-35 series.
