BOCA RATON, FL. At its annual user conference in Boca Raton, FL last week, PeopleNet announced that it has added two partners, Doran Manufacturing and BatRF by Stemco, that integrate with its own Tire Pressure Monitoring Service.

In addition to expanding the company’s integrated tire pressure monitoring offerings, the company has a new tire pressure reporting feature that provides the cab with the current tire pressure status of both the tractor and trailer, as well as real-time tire-pressure alarms for the driver that are also transmitted to the PeopleNet Fleet Manager.

The new feature also provides historical reporting and works on all PeopleNet display platforms including the PeopleNet Driver Terminal, PeopleNet BLU and PeopleNet Tablet.

“Our new tire pressure reporting feature helps fleets proactively combat one of the most common causes of downtime and maintenance headaches,” noted Brian McLaughlin, PeopleNet COO. “When tire pressure exceeds programmed thresholds, the PeopleNet Fleet Manager sends real-time alarms to drivers and, if warranted, emails to fleet managers. It’s all about early warning to eliminate future, more severe and costly situations like a blown tire.”

PeopleNet began offering tire pressure monitoring in 2010 through its initial partnership with Advantage PressurePro, LLC.

“Right now, safety seems to be the big focus for new technologies,” Ron Konezny, PeopleNet CEO told Fleet Owner. “There are all these different onboard safety systems available now and the market is, to some extent, still sorting itself out. There will be winners and losers, but our customers feel comfortable that we can be the router for all that [new safety-related] information.

“We truly believe that those companies that embrace technology and really understand it will outpace their competitors,” he added. “The study we did some time ago with Safe Stat data supported that.”
