Rainier pilot plant operational in Yakima, WA

Dec. 11, 2018
The company has also added a 36,000lb GVW Class “Baby” 8 COE truck model to their lineup called the RT 3600.

Rainier Truck & Chassis LLC. has its pilot production plant operational after four months of renovation work. Currently, they are continuing to spec and secure components for production of their low cost/ low tech, common cab, and chassis COE platform.

Factory direct and online orders from their dealer and consumer base is up 92% from last year. Company officials’ attribute the robust sales to consumers wanting a COE truck that has a lower acquisition cost, that is simpler to operate and maintain and that offers an uncompromising powerful and reliable Cummins/ Allison powertrain.

The RT 3600 shares the same cab/chassis components with the rest of the Rainier line up except with higher gross axle weight ratings, heavier duty suspensions and steering components. In addition, the RT 3600 “Baby 8” comes standard with the powerful Cummins B6.7L 325hp with 750ft/lbs of torque married up to an Allison 3000RDS six speed automatic with push button shift selector.

With the addition of the “Baby 8” Rainier can now offer its dealers and customers a complete COE line up from Class 4 to 8 and in the future is looking to offer higher horse power engines and GVW’s in the category.
