Taking a ride in Peterbilt's self-driving Model 579 test truck

Peterbilt Motors Co. recently showed off the capabilities of its self-driving Model 579 autonomous test vehicle at the Texas Motor Speedway. Bill Kahn, principle engineer and manager of advanced concepts at Peterbilt, demonstrated how lane keeping systems married to GPS navigation technology and precise GPS maps, can allow a commercial vehicle to drive itself in complex urban street environments.
