Volvo Trucks North America is now offering its D12 series engines as a North American remanufactured product

Volvo Trucks North America is now offering its D12 series engines as a North American remanufactured product. The Volvo Reman Basic Engine will be backed with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, said the OEM.

“The Volvo D12 series enjoys tremendous success with customers who value its performance, reliability and fuel economy,” said Darin Redmon, Volvo Trucks engine marketing manager – parts marketing. “Remanufacturing the D12 gives customers a cost-effective option for extending the operating life of their Volvo VN or Volvo VHD, with new engine performance.”

Remanufactured at the Middletown Remanufacturing Center (MRC) in Middletown, PA, the remanufactured D12 can be ordered through any Volvo Truck dealer. It is delivered as a “basic engine,” allowing customers to re-use external engine components such as alternators from their original D12, the company said.

Each engine includes a remanufactured cylinder block, cylinder head, accessory drive, connecting rods and oil pump, with new piston rings, cylinder liners, bearings, bushings, gaskets and seals. They are completely disassembled, cleaned and measured against Reman specifications to ensure performance and reliability standards are met, Volvo said.
