Wheel seals added to wheel-end parts offerings

July 10, 2012

Meritor’s Aftermarket business has added heavy-duty truck and trailer oil-bath wheel seals to its wheel-end parts offerings.

The oil-bath wheel seals are available in standard or premium versions. They will be distributed from the company’s distribution centers in Florence, KY, and Brampton, Ontario.

“Adding the wheel seals will serve to strengthen our comprehensive all-makes, wheel-end offerings to fleets, dealers and distributors across North America,” said Tim Bauer, business unit director, Undercarriage Products, Meritor.

The seals feature a wide-seal band, a multi-zone labyrinth design, unique low-friction bumpers, plus a 0.07-in. steel casing (0.07-inches) that helps prevent installation damage.

Manufactured from nitrile rubber, the standard model includes a one year or 150,000-mi. warranty. The premium models are made from hydrogenated nitrile rubber and come with a two year or 300,000-mi. warranty.

Warranty extension is possible by utilizing the Meritor PlatinumShield coated brake shoes with MA friction materials.
