Xantrex inverter available in 230 volts AC option

Sept. 8, 2014

Xantrex’s Freedom SW series inverter/charger is now available in a 230VAC/50Hz configuration. The combination inverter, battery charger and transfer switch is designed to provide fully automatic electrical power management for commercial operations.

When connected to an external source of AC power, the Freedom SW allows the energy to pass through and directly power connected equipment like televisions, microwave ovens, entertainment systems, computers, washers/dryers and refrigerators and uses surplus power to recharge vehicle or boat batteries. When the external site power is disconnected, the unit automatically inverts DC battery power into AC power to continue providing a steady stream of AC electrical current.

Standard features of the device include automatic overload protection, short-circuit protection, integrated resettable AC breakers and a power factor-corrected, multi-stage charger with temperature compensation and a wide operating range (-20°C to 60°C) for fast, efficient charging in tough climate conditions.

The unit can also be configured to provide ignition lockout protection, preventing unnecessary battery drain when the alternator is not providing power.

It is available in two models (2,500 continuous watts with 65-amp charging, and 3,400 continuous watts with 90-amp charging). The Freedom SW 230VAC offers parallel stacking capability to double the power output. Built-in generator support mode enables the Freedom SW to supplement an onboard generator when AC loads exceed the generator’s capacity.

Both models feature a two times continuous power surge rating providing up to 6,800 watts for the necessary start-up power of demanding appliances, and are fully compatible with optional accessories such as the System Control Panel (SCP) and the Automatic Generator Start (AGS).
